hello I have a alpine type r 12" in a volume of 1.2 sealed box as opposed to the optimup .85 or recommended .75-1.00.

I know I probably should have returned the box but I heard sealed enclosures are very forgiving, and it probably taken a while to get a new box/been a pain going to all the different shops

However, I didnt and was wondering the drawbacks in sound that may be happening, or if I could do a quick fix to the box inside (can the sub be taken out/ put back in again).

thanks, hopefuly I dont sound TOO retarded

You should be fine with that enclosure.  In fact, I'll bet it sounds better than it would in 0.85 - less boomy.

Like DYohn said...  It should sound pretty good.  If there is some sound issues, then just glue some MDF inside until you get the right internal volume.

That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.
