Subject: How to determine amp problem

My boss gave me a X-Treme Audio Amp he had kicking around that has 5 channels, 4x350 and 1x1500, but the bastard doesn't work, which is why I got it for free. I want to see if I can get it working again. Is there a checklist of things I do to try to pinpoint the problem? The amp is the X-Treme Audio AS-5100 or the A5-5100, couldn't tell from the writing being semi-worn off. Any tips or ideas would be appreciated, besides the suggestion of trashing the amp and paying money for a new one, I already have an alright one but I figure if I get it working I can sell it to a friend for a case of beer or something.

WOW... Love those hi-res, fine detailed photos...
Seriously, that picture is no good... Can you get a better one? Looks, preliminarily, to be a problem in the power supply end...
------------- It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
