hi just wanted to know if anyone knows of a speaker tester to check phase. I think i had seen one once with a little green and red light on it. I know you can use the battery but you cant tell if its in phase or out of phase with out actully looking at the speaker

the thing w/ the red and green lights on it is a test light, which is not something you wanna get...get yourself a DMM. As far as checking for proper phase, looking is the best way if you cant hear the diffrence. good advice is to use something common to you when installing the speakers to insure that you have it correct.Maybe someone else can describe it better than me, GL sS ------------- RTFM

actually there is one. the only one i know is available to best buy installers but im sure theres one for everyone else... ill look up the name and model number

i know what a test light is i use the every day. its not that this thing i saw was a little gray box with two aligator clips coming off it. I guy i used to work with had one but never asked where he got it from.

There are phase checkers available and Yes some have green and red lights on them. No they are not electronic test lights or have anything to do with a DMM.
With an electronic tester you can test phase without removing the grill or door panel. Visual works with larger speakers, however tweeters, HLCD or dome midrange
and you might still be guessing.
TurboSound (pro audio) makes a two unit tester. One is a transmitter and the other a reciever. The reciever has a small microphone and a Green and Red Led. The transmitter sends out a signal, you then place the reciever in front of the speaker and there ya go. If you are testing ported subs, the reciever will show out-of-phase near the port.
I think David Navone has one for sale at autosound 2000.

I have one they cost about 80 bucks new i got it out of Kansas city it took forever to get because they are always back ordered i will see if i can get the number and the place when i go back to the shop so give me a little time. they are handy for when you get chopped up junkers make like easyer

i can't find the company i got it from but now i need one too buddy left mine out side and it got ran over and its no good can anybody tell us where to get a new speaker phaser??? HELP please

the one i am looking for is like a off white color or i guess you could say dirty white, it has two wires that come out of the top a red for + and black - and an on/off switch and the lights one is a orange light that will light up when it is out of phase green when it is in phase and red when it is ready to use or not touching any wires........ i know somebody out there has another one of these but thanks for all of you help
