my friend bought a bual 10" bandpass box the center chamber is sealed with the plexiglass front and the subs faces are in that part and the rear of the subs are in the ported chamber well the ports are only 4" wide and 4 1/2" long ace hardware sells pvc piping that will fit these ports exactly now my ? is would extending these ports give him a better bass response and it jus sound better overall and any suggestions helps i know about ported boxes and the dementions of the ports make a difference cause it changes the tuning fq of the box but ive never really messed with bandpass boxes cause theve never sound good but any suggestions for this box would be greatly appreciated thanx

you can change the port length by adding the pvc. just go big than cut smaller than test etc. to see if you get a sound you want.

leave one sub normal and work on other sub so you can hear both before and after at the same time. Like i said start long and cut about 1/2 inch each time see if it changes the way it sounds.
