I have a 2005 Nissan Titan Crew Cab LE.  I have installed my Alpine IVA-D300 and am ready for the rest of the system.  I have usually ran Memphis, the high class components in my last truck.  I want to use something different on this truck.  I will stick with the memphis amps, but I wasn't impressed with their components.  Can I please get some input from all of you who install different brands everyday?  I will be using 3 Memphis MCA-300 to push the components, so 150 x 2.  The Nissan Titan has a center channel, and I aim to put a set of 4" components there.  Some brands I was considering but never heard them play:

Focal  ---                       Preferably not the Utopia series, too high $

Diamond Audio---      Not familar with this brand, just heard some good stuff.  Advice??

MB Quart---                  Also not familar with, advice would be great

Any other brand that you think would be good would be great.  I like alternative music very loud with low distortion and not bland.  The Memphis M-Sync's seem to squelchy at higher frequencies.  Any advice would be greatley appreciated, and also anyone on this site that has a shop and sells this I would appreciate a PM.  I would rather buy it from an authorized dealer than from the internet.  Thanks.

I've never heard the Memphis components personally, so I can't comment on them.  However, if you think the highs were too harsh for your taste, you would probably feel the same way about the MB Quart speakers as well.

I have Boston Acoustics in my car, and I think they sound great.  Very accurate.  I've heard good things about Eclipse too.

I have a set of focal polyglas 3-ways in my car and they are phenominal. They are rates at about 75 watts RMS but I was giving them about 150watts and when they are tuned right they can handle it all. I highly recommend them. When I bought them I was deciding between the polyglas and the utopia series and for the moeny, it just wasnt worth it to get the utopias. Honestly i thought the polyglas sounded better anyways. although I still havent heard the new utopia BEs. Im sure those are way better but i dont know if they are worth $5k

All the above mentioned brands are great. You probably wouldn't be very dissatisified with any of them, unless the install is not up to par with the speakers so...

Are you planning on using factory speaker locations? Have you thought about pods or kicks, tweeter location and the like? These would be very important to me if I were to invest in high end speakers, again.

By the way you might have a look at Dynaudio, Morel and Rainbow. All very nice brands as well.

Yes, dwarren, I was going to build some kick panels for possibly a 3 way setup in the front, still use the factory spot in the front door for the mid, and the upper dash below the windshield for the tweeter and rear use the factory locations.  I have already layered my doors and floor with layers of B-quiet.  Dynaudio, Morel, Rainbow, never heard of them.  I will try to find them on the net.  Thanks for your input, and please more.

Also, does anyone on this site sell any of these products through your business??

Yea, thats kinda a problem.  I am in rural Oklahoma, and nice car audio gear is not available.  The nearest stereo shop is 1 1/2 hour away, a maw and pop store.  They have the usual fosgate, kicker, memphis, but no high end gear.  That is why I am asking for opionins, and I appreciate all the input.

On the 3 way set, that will come with a woofer, mid, and a tweeter.  Could I put the woofer in a kick panel, the mid in the factory hole and the tweeter in the dash at the factory hole??  Shouldn't it be better to keep the tweet as close to the mid as possible??  Also, what is the wattage on most 3 way components??  Should I bi-amp??  Thanks again for all the input and knowledge.

It may be worth that long trip just to hear the speakers.  Otherwise you are spending a lot of money blindly, which isn't a good idea with those sets you mention.  For instance, it has been my experience that people either love or hate the Focal or Quart speakers.  For me the Focal sets are WAY too harsh sounding, and the Quarts are voiced way too bright.

It sounds like you have a good plan for the woofer and mid locations.  As for the tweeter, I would recommend doing some experimenting.  Try using some double sided tape to try the tweeter both on the dash and near the mid to see where it sounds best to you.
