i have heard good on both ends and would like to know what is better...10 inch subs or 12 for bass??? ty for your input

They are both fine.  Neither is necessarily better nor worse than the other.  It all depends on the specific speaker, the enclosure, how it is used, and the installation.

Further to that, a 10" sub can and will play the same low bass note as the larger 12" sub. If the subs are equal as far as box goes, as in built to the same spec for the same like subs (as in one say DD3500 series 10" vs a DD35 series 12"), the tonal response should be the same, save for the ability of the larger sub to play the lower bass notes with far greater output. This to most listeners is perceived as a better sub as there is more bass. Good bass is all about matching the correct sub to the correct box, installing it correctly and proper use. Every person is different, to some people a 10" is what they need, for others, the dual 18's are what is a must have.
