I have installed 3 Amplifiers and a subwoofer in my 2003 Honda Civic. I had previously used a one amp, one sub setup in my old car, but i had an interest in keeping my inside speakers performing as well as my subwoofer. Here are my symptoms.

Subwoofer shuts off during play. I Noticed the amp was very hot. i forgot the model number but it is a 400w x 1 @ 4 ohm bridged, 2 ch amp. It always got hot but never shut off on me before i installed the other two amplifiers.

I used that amps Remote section to relay the remote signal to the other two amps. Now i think that is the problem but i didnt get a chance to tackle at it yet.

The pioneer amp is driving a 12" Alpine SWR-1241D, Dual Voice Coil wired at 4 ohms, 300w RMS @ 4ohms. Amp is bridged to this speaker.

The other two amps are both Rockford Fosgate p3002, 75w x 2 @ 4ohms. One amp is driving the 2, 6 1/4 inch, Infinity Kappa, front speakers which take 75w RMS @ 4ohms each. The second amp is driving the rear stock 6x9's which take 15w RMS @ 4ohms. The rear speakers are temporary.

One thing i noticed, i am using a 2 farad Lightning audio capacitor (led display). This cap does not have a remote turn on lead. It stays illuminated. Now im unsure if that is drawing from my battery constantly enough for me to be worried.

Yesterday, my subwoofer shut off. So i shut off the head deck so i can work on it tonight. But this morning my car is dead. I didnt get to check the alternator or the battery. Car made no clicking, no lights flickering. Nothing. Here is a drawing i tried my best to piece together of my setup. My grounds are very secure to the frame of the car which i sanded vigorously. Connections are tight. Thanks for your help.

The led display probably wouldn't be enough to kill the battery over night. What you should do is get the battery charged by jumping it and letting it run for a while (a long while), turn off the radio(make sure it is completely off) and check to see if the amps are still on.

If they are then there is either something wrong with the deck and it is sending power along the turn on wire or the turn on wire is getting power from somewhere. Also if they are still on then unplug the turn on wire one by one on each amp and see if they shut off(not just the one you unplugged).

If the amps are not on with the radio turned off then you may have a draw from somewhere else.

Lastly, make sure you are drawing power directly from the battery and not the fuse box, I have seen people do this and blow the main fuseable link there.

Your sub amp probably shut off because you have it overloaded.  It's a DVC 4-ohm woofer, which means you can wire it for either 2-ohms or 8-ohms.  If you wired it in parallel (2-ohms) that is too low for your amp.  If you wired it in series (8-ohms) you may have cranked the gain too far trying to make it louder.  In either case, the amp would shut off.

yeah. i completely forgot i had the speaker wired for a 2 ohm load. and it was on the amped bridged for 400x1 @ 4ohms. i used to have it bridged, wired in series with the speakers wired in parallel. thats when i had no problem. thinking i didnt need so much bass this time, i overlooked the impedence rating. unfortunately, the speaker blew. so its a damn shame.
