I have an 01 Suburban with the factory CD player and the slave cassette player. I want to remove the cassette player and mount a dvd player in its location. As for the input, I purchased a PAC AAI-GM9 to get an aux input from the dvd into the factory cd player. But now heres the problem: the aai-gm9 wont let me disconnect the tape player, it will only work if there is a functioning slave tape player connected. Will I be ok to put a tape into the tape player and then relocate it, say under the center console perhaps, and leave it connected? Or should I try and get an adapter that will work without a slave unit connected?
