i was asked to put a head unit/Amp/Sub in an 2002 eclipse for a friend. my friend went to best buy to get a wiring harness and the installer there said it has a amp under the passenger seat and to put a new head unit in you would have to replace all the wiring in the car.... he also said my friend could go to circut city and they have a special harness/plug but its like 100.00
. i was wondering possiblities. thanks in advance

Basically, he's right. You can use an amp integration harness, which I'd recommend unless you're replacing all the interior speakers as well. The factory amp has built in crossovers, so the tweeters have no protection if you hook them up to the deck. If you're replacing all the speakers, you can either run fresh wire to all locations, or use the wire from the factory amp and "ohm" the speakers. Read the sticky "how to figure out stereo wiring". There are other options (doing away with the factory tweets all together, etc.).
You could always keep the factory deck, and just add the amp and sub.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
No, but if you're adding an amp/sub, I'd tap the rear speaker wires and connect a line out converter. You can run your rca's from there.

no, you are going to have to use a line out converter to change the speaker lever signal to rca level signal. you can just use a 9v battery with soldered on wire leads to pop the speakers to find out which wires are speaker wires to hook the LOC up to them.
thanks thats what i figured i'd end up doing. but its always safe to ask if theirs any other possibilities. than ks geepherder
