Hey guys.  I;ve got an Alpine CDE-9845 Head Unit which has 2 PreAmp outputs.  I've got a few problems at the moment.  I will be wiring a 4-channel amplifier that requires 2 pairs of RCA cables to go into the preamp outputs in my head unit.  The problem is that I'm assuming that I will have to do the same for the other mono amplifier that will be powering 2 subwoofers.  Any suggestions?

Another question is do I run a single power wire to the battery for each amplifier? Or is there a way I can run just 1 for both amps?  Thanks for the help guys this place is great.

Run one power wire...4 gauge or bigger preferably.

Wire both preamp outputs to the 4 channel amp and use a small patch rca cable to send the signal from the 4 channel to the sub amp.

Will this affect the sound quality by doing it this way?

Nope, unless your alpine has non gold plated rca's. If it does then all of your tunes will be in Dutch. If the 4 channel amp has a set of outputs on it, use the output from the 4 channel to go to the input of the mono amp. If the amp does not have rca outputs, does the mono amp? If it does, take the front preamp out and plug it into the mono amp, then take the outputs and plug them into the other input on the 4 channel amp. If neither amp has a preamp output on it, then purchase 1 pair of rca y cables, preferrably M - 2 F. Use this to split the rca cable at the 4 channel amp.

I found out that both amps have preouts.  So ive got that rpblem solved, but now I have another one.  When wiring the distribution block, should I do  8 gauge in and 4 gauge out to the battery?  Cause 2 gauge wire is hella expensive at $3.50 a footposted_image

I think you meant 4ga in and 2 x 8ga out? the 4ga coming from the battery? if so that would most likely be just fine unless there is a huge amount of power draw im mising somewhere.
