I'm looking for a good sounding, 10" for my truck. I just would like to know what is a good brand name to look for? I would like to stay as low as possible on the spending. I just want something with good bass.

So what is your flavor? What do you think?

MTX, JL Audio, Alpine, or Infinity are all good to me. Im sure there are more but these are the ones I like. Personally, in trucks I recommend MTX Road Thunder series. You can get them on www.partsexpress.com for around $50 and they sound great. a MTX RT10 in a small sealed box with about 250watts RMS will give you very tight accurate bass on a low budget.

Is pile any good?

personally the name pile speaks for it's self...hehe I would suggest staying away from Memphis 10's in your truck if your going for a very small enclosure. I have the PR104D that I bought for the truck. They sat in a small under the rear box and when I pulled em out for the bug and used correct volume they sounded SOOOOO much better. They sounded sub par in the truck. Could be alot more to it but I just didn't find them to be good for truck use.

Link doesn't work cuz you can't post ebay links here. lol
Forum rules.

Boss is cheap and Pyle is a pile of doodie.

Exactly how much are you looking to spend on a 10" sub?
Then we'll give you some more specific suggestions.

Just asking what to look for in brand name isn't much...many low end subs from high end companys don't sound as good as you would think but enclosure is a big factor.

If you are going to order Pyle or Boss, you might as well just go to you local walmart or kmart and buy whatever they sell. They are probably about the same quality. Im telling you, the mtx rt10 is probably the cheapest you want to go.

If it's in a blazer and you can make a box the right cubes then Memphis are pretty damn good and won't hurt your pocket book.

15-PR104D

This is what I have in my bug and it bumps pretty good. If it wasn't for me wanting to go all MTX I would keep these and put more power to em.

I second killer sonata.

For the price those MTX subs can't be beat. I have two friends with those on their cars and they're very happy with them.

The Memphis PR104D are $59 each at that link. Thats only $120 a pair. Not including shipping of course. I do however like MTX myself but since I have never heard the ones they are talking about I can't comment on if they are better or not then the Memphis. So you have a couple options at least.

At the very least go to that link, there are 3 reviews on there for those speakers.

Are These the ones that killer sonata was talking about?  They have free shipping I'm looking to save as much as possible. I like the Memphis ones but it's about 60 bucks more with the shipping figured in.

those are the ones. They also have the dual 4ohm ones. It all depends on how you want to wire them. Ya, the free shipping is a great bonus isnt it?

I don't really know what the differance of the dual ohms and the other ones. Could you help me understand?posted_image

well if you have 2 single 4ohm voice coil subs, they can only be wired together to represent a 2 or 8 ohm load on an amp. If you have 2 dual 4ohm voice coil subs, they can only be wired together to represent a 1 or 4 ohm load. Depending on what amp you are using and how much power the subs can handle will help you determine which subs to get. Do you know what amp you are going to use?

use this link to heelp you figure out the wiring configurations for the subs.

Right now all I have is a Jensen 300 Watt Amp XA3022Lx - 3/2/1 CH Bridgeable That a friend let me use. I can't get anything different right now. So I will need to buy and work around this for now.  I couldn't even find any info on it, on the web anywhere. I know it crap but thats all I have.
