i have a pioneer cd player in my truck and i want to hook up my ipod to it.  I have had an auxillary setup for awhile now that just runs from my IP-bus in the back of my head-unit to a headphone connector that plugs into an mp3 player.

Im looking for something that will charge my ipod as well as play it. I looked around on the internet and found out about this iCruze from Monster Cables.  The only problem is that it doesnt look like it will connect to a pioneer head-unit.  It connects to factory stereo's and alpine head-units.   The icruze apparently uses M-bus architecture, which that is what the alpine head-units use for auxillary inputs.  Through modules you can connect the M-bus to factory head-units, but not other aftermarket head-units like pioneer, sony, alpine, etc.

So....is there a way i can retrofit this icruze to my pioneer head-unit?  Maybe some sort of IP-bus to M-bus adapter, or is that kind of thing not possible?  Is there any other way to make the iCruze work with my pioneer?  Also, if anyone has any other suggestions as to how i can hook my iPod up to my car then im all ears.

Before i ran into this iCruze product, i was just looking for a cable that would connect to the bottom of my iPod and then split into two differant cables.  One cable would go to a power supply in the vehicle, and the other would go to the back of the CD Player.  I couldnt find anyone who manufactured a cable like this, but does anyone think it would be possible to buy a regular iPod cable and splice it and make my own?  Im not necassarily looking for something to control my iPod from my head-unit, like the iCruze does.  I just want something that will charge it and connect it to my cd player (NO FM TRANSMITTING) through the same connection.

neverind everyone, i found this a shortwhile after posting

although, i was doing some research and found an adapter pioneer makes that converts M-bus ports to IP-bus ports, but i couldnt find one that did the opposite.  Anyone have any background history on these ports like why certain companies use certain ones, and what the differance is between them, etc?

If you tried the pioneer i-pod adapter and hated the interface as i did, check out this adapter by peripheral, you can get it at best buy. It works similar to the headphone 2 aux type set uo but also powers it and you don't have to mess with your i-pods volume.
