I am in the process of building a system, i have a sealed box with 2 alpine 1242 type 2's, i am thinking of getting 2 alpine m650, running a amp to each sub.  also i am looking at an eq (kenwood 6042). now heres my question how do i hook these up, from th eback of the eq it has a sub output, once the rca's are connected their do i just split them  when connecting them to the amplifier

Split them with an RCA "Y" should do fine. I've had some problems with M-650s shutting off when run hard at a 2 ohm load, make sure you can trade them in if this happens.
