Alright I got a cap. yesterday and I hooked it up it does noticabley hit harder but, my friend says his is different. Heres a pic: He says the - of my amp should be ran to the - of the cap. so instead of having seperate grounds for my am and my cap, i should only have one.

As long as they are grounded to the same spot on the chasis you have no probelm. If not, you may be introducing noise into the system. Most people run it through the cap just for the more uniform look.

Tell your friend that if it is grounded and it is grounded...Like h2 said...the ground from amp to cap is just for a smooth look rather than a cluttered look.

Remind your friend that unlike water, electricity flows in both direction, thus there is no need for an in and an out. This is one of the reasons that amplifiers have dual power and ground terminals on them. Main power wires into the amp, secondary power wires out of amp and to cap. No other wires are attached to the cap.
