hey guys i just brought an alpine 7892, i am told this has a built in eq, I was wondering if it has that cheesy eq where it only says jazz, rock, etc, because i am thinking of getting an kicker eq or a kenwood 6042, just wanted to know before i purchase the eq and dont need it

ar you getting it just for the sake of having one or do you really think you need one. If so, why do you think you need one?

that unit lets you choose what frequencies that you want your bass and treble controls to adjust. it doesnt really have an eq built into it. however since the bass and treble frequencies are adjustable, you do have a bit more control than a normal head unit. personally i wouldnt bother with an external eq, you probably dont really need it, and its just another piece of equipment that could possibly cause noise.
