I recently bought a Kicker ZR240 amp and by recently I mean yesterday haha. I had it installed by a buddy of mine who use to work at CrowRiverSound so I know it was installed right....I hope, my concern is that the amp powers up, seems to work awesome however the yellow  "protection" light doesn't come on, is this a serious problem?

If the protection light doesn't come on than why are you asking if this is a problem...the protection light not being on is a good thing.

You make absolutely no sense.

Don't bust the guy out for not knowing. He is asking a legit question that he does not know.

The protection light not coming on is a good thing, if the protecction light comes on then that means there is an internal problem with the amp or the wiring.

I don't mind the negative feedback, I just didn't want to have a problem and let it go. I've heard that it was suppose to be on but blink if there was a problem and I've heard it's suppose to be on to say it's protected and I've heard that it's not suppose to be on at all unless there is a problem. I don't know much about amps, subs etc etc which is why I had a proffessional install it. Thanks for the input anyways, least I know now

Thats not the point neon. This forum is for learning not bashing. Not everybody knows as much as the next person.

A simple answer without the bash and explaining to you why the protection light is suposed to be off would have been much better. Why? becasue someone else may have the same question down the road.
