My customer has a 97 Accord, factory radio. We added a PAC line out converter, two subs in a sealed box, 4 ga. amp kit, and a 800 watt Kenwood amp. While driving the bass shuts off for no good reason. He removed the amp subs and box. Bought a new set up from a Big Box store. Same thing happened bass shuts off. He put the original set-up back in. Same thing again.

We replaced the line out converter, same again.  So... replaced subs, amp h-l converter. When the system is playing fine it will shut off. The ironic thing is you can bump the box or the amp and it will come back on.  While doing this I had the volt meter on the power and ground, when it happened again there was no loss of power. When placed on the speaker wires and the shut off occurred ohm load stayed at or around 4. Any ideas whats up

Where did you catch 12 volts for the remote turn on lead for the amplifier? Does it also show 12 volts when it shuts off?

Check the tensel leads on the sub?

Does the sub stop playing, or does the amp shut off?

The subs read 4 ohms each when sound shuts off, and amp loses no power at hot wire of amp or at remote.

When it shuts off, does it stay off or turn back on in a few minutes?

How are the subs running to the amp? (2 or 4 ohm load)?

And this isnt the older Kenwood 800watt amp thats all black and has a silver strip on top with the fan in the strip is it?
