I have a 2006 Infiniti G35 coupe and I am about to updgrade my system and just wanted to get some pointers. It comes with 6 speakers plus the 2 tweeters in the front. Should I replace all 6 speakers and get a 6 channel amp or just unplug one set of speakers in the back and just run a 4 channel amp? The setup currently is 2 6 1/2 components in the front doors....2 6 1/2 in back by your legs and 2 6 x9 in the top of the trunk area where most cars have speakers.
Which component speakers are better?
Focal 165W 6 1/2
JL Audio ZR650 CSi 6 1/2
MB Quart QSD 216
This is the system I am looking at getting so far. Tell me what you think and what you would change. Thanks
Jl Audio Cleansweep
1 x JL Audio 450/4
1 x JL Audio 1000/1
2 x JL Audio 12W6v2
1 x Focal 165W 6 1/2
1 x Focal 690CV1 6x9
IMO Focal makes higher quality speakers than either JL Audio or MB Quart, but the real answer to your question is for you to listen to them and purchase what you like listening to the most.

Leave out the rear door speaker, go with the 4 channel amp on the front component and rear shelf speakers. Consider the new Eclipse XA4000 amplifier with it's full range class D output of 125w rms x 4, it has proven to be a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
I would say focal also with MB in a close second. The eclipse amps are great but if you are concerned about space, go with the new alpine PDX 4ch amp. That would be perfect for the utopia focals. plus if you get more than 1 PDX amp, they are stackable.
