i have 2 12'' mtx thunder 7500 series subs in a vent ported box running on a 1800w hifonics amp at 4ohms. i have been running them like this for bit now and they hit hard but they are only running at 450 threw the 4ohm. i was wondering the amp is rated to run at 1 ohm and so are the subs i have heard of people running them at 1 ohm and they run fine but i don't know if the two of them together would run ok i am nervous to do this i don't wanna blow my amp or my subs but i would love to get more bass if it wasn't going to hurt anything. any ideas on what i sould do ?

I have 2 MTX 8500 series running at 2 ohm and giving them about 1700 Watts RMS and they love it. The ohm load to which they are at doesnt matter so much to the subs. Its all about the load on the amp and if it can handle it or not. Sounds to me like you can run the amp at 1ohm and should be fine. Just make sure the gain is set properly so you dont kill the amp. Also, something to keep in mind....the lower the ohmload a sub is wired at, the more the sound quality of the sub decreases. in other words a sub playing at 1ohm will not sound as good as the same sub wired at 8ohms. it will, in general, be louder because an amp puts out more power at 1 ohm than 8 ohms. ideally if you could suplly the 1500 watts at 8ohms youd be set!
