What is a fair price for installing just the amp and sub?
I have everything needed to install my amp and sub, I just purchased a new car to me, it is a 2002 vw jetta and want it done for me. I have no time to do it, the system was in my old car I just want it installed in the new one.
Thanks for any help!

My shop charges 65 bux plus tax, so long as there is no crazy work involved in mounting the amp. Thats Canadian mind you ;)

Circuit City quoted me 150 to 175 us dollars. Without even looking at it, I think that is a little high!

Wow, did they tell you to grab your ankles and give you lube as well? You said you have all the wiring and what not already right?

I don't think that price is too high, but from jerk-it city, yes too much. The going rate at my shop is $80 (for customers own gear) an hour and that type of install usually takes an 1.5-2 hrs. -------------

I'd say go to a local shop...I don't like CC's installs...They made my friends ground wire like 4 inches long so if the box even moves the wire rips outta the amp...And I know ground wires in all kits are longer than that. I just think they want your money.

look in the installer database on this site and find a installer local to you, if it is just a person with knoledge of installations then you might get an even better price, or list where you are located and I bet someione will chime in and let you know of a good shop.

Do they have to build a box for your sub?

I know most big box stores( i work at best buy), won't install used wires. So they probably did quote you for some new wires.

It's going to be just like going to a mechanic for the most part. You buy parts from them, you get better hourly. You bring in parts, it costs more. ...at least around here. ------------- The Flakman
