ok i got 2 jl audio w7 13.5 2 1000/1's and 1 450/4 running six speakers...when i play it at high volume the 450/4 just turns off (no overheating or ohms lights come on)...the speakers are wired correctly and i am almost sure its because i need a stronger alt. I put a multi meter to the powers of the 450/4 and it drops to 10volts and lower when it cuts out.

the big question is, why arent my sub amps cutting out and just my 4ch? any suggestions?

Meter the sub amps and see where their power is at when the 4 channel cuts out. Look at the ground for the 4 channel as well. Is the gain set too high?

i just figured it out...the 450/4 needs 10v+ to operate...the 1000/1 needs 8v+ to operate...so when the power drops below 10v, it causes the 4ch to cut out, but the sub amps wont cut out till below 8v...i answered my own question with a lil research.

Sounds to me like you need an alternator... If you are dropping below 10V, you are risking more than your amplifiers... You're gonna fry vital auto electronics soon, if you're not careful.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
