Aiight, I'm back again with a question or three.

I have a Phoenix Gold Xenon 10" sub that I just fried.  It was hooked up to a Xenon 600.1 mono amp.  The tech at PG said that the combo was solid and I shouldn't have any problems.  Well...the sub is currently on it's way back to PG to be rebuilt.  In the mean time...I'm looking for options incase this sub fails again.

I came across a new Clarion PXW1051 rated at 500 watts rms w/dual 2 ohm voice coils.  If you don't mind, take a look and give me your feedback.

I found this sub for $88 + s&h.  My budget is around $100 give or take $40.  Can you suggest any other subs in this price range I should look at?  It has to be a 10" and it must have either dual 2 ohm voice coils or be a single 4 ohm sub.

Much appreciated.

Mike

What is your amp rated at?? If it is a mono amp than it should be stable down to 2 ohms. But if you want to wire it at 4 ohms than go for it.

Also that link doesn't work...don't know if it's my computer or that it just doesn't work.

Either is in your price range and I personally like both.

The Xenon 600.1 is rated at 600 watts x 1 @ 1, 2 or 4 ohms.  The birthsheet on the amp when I got it has it rated at 612 watts rms.  My electrical system is kicking out 14 volts as well.  I prefer a 4 ohm load because I'm shooting for an SQ.

I see what I did wrong, the https:// was in there twice...try it now.

The Alpine sub you sent a link for was only rated at 300 watts rms, which means I would need 2.  I'm only looking for a single sub.

The Diamond Audio looks promising, however...does it come in dual 2 ohm voice coils or single 4 ohm voice coil???
