Sure, it is the wire masquerading as one of the many in your vehicle......more info needed dude. What is the year, make and model of the vehicle please. You might also want to look to the <-------- side of the screen in the blue sidebar under vehicle wiring in the future.

most cars have extra slots in the fuse box labeled "IGN" or "ACC" that you can easily tap into for a switched source if all else fails.

ok, i just found the vehicles wiring chart ( https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=1983-85&make=Ford&model=Ranger&ID=17840&type=Stereo ) so according to this the switched is the yellow and black wire and the constant is the light green right?

again thanks for the help!!

What you should do is test the wires with a multimeter to be sure.  If you don't have one, you can get a cheap one from RadioShack.  Otherwise if you hook something up wrong, you could possibly cause damage to your equipment/vehicle.
