I am loking to swap out the bose head unit with an Alpine... What will i need to get the job done? Please provide links to products I need if possible please. The car has onstar that I do not use, I want to utilize the factory speakers and amp (the factory Bose system,) and I want to make sure I still get the warning chimes... Also I would like to retain steering wheel controls if possible but not a high priority.
Thanks in advance :)
P.S. I know it is going to be bit of a pain but I would like to do it anyway :)
need....
wiring harness
any converters to retain bose system and door chimes
mounting hardware kit
and whatever else you can think of
It looks like the cure-all may be a Peripheral GMAH32 but I cannot seem to find anyone who sells them... anyone have any clue how to get one?

will that unit work for an 01 saab 9-3?
I do not know... here is a ling to Peripheral's website for the application guide.

The good news though is that I found out the scoop on the GMAH32 interface is BRAND NEW!!! It has not really shipped to very many places yet, if any. I stopped in at a couple local car audio places and Mach 1 (local car audio store) called Peripheral to find out what the story is on that unit and said they get order one right then and there. I had the guy order it and he said he could have it there in a week or so... possibly as early as Friday!! :) So for anyone with a Cadillac DTS from 2000 thru 2005 you are in LUCK!! There is now a solution. However it is about $200 but it also makes it easy for just about anyone to install the aftermarket head unit themselves. There are a lot of benefits to go with it as well... such as not having to spend a ton of many to rewire all new speaker to bypass the Bose amp, also you will now get to retain your Onstar etc... and for me the most important, I don't have to spend $500+ on a quality line out converter that may not do a stellar job.
