What is the effect of having a port opening that is off-axis with the speaker (rear facing, side facing, or any other orientation relative to the face of the speaker) on accoustical or spl performance?

I searched and researched but couldn't find anything addressing this subject area.

Thanks.

You shouldn't be able to tell any difference as long as the port opens into the same airspace as the driver (e.g. trunk, etc.).

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

we just built yet another L7 box, that the port is off-axis.....the sub is rear firing and the port is passenger firing.

I have noticed with the seats down on some lower notes I hear more port noise then I would like to....I think this has to do with the fact that the port is side firing right next to the opening to the trunk from the cab
