If you have the theft code on hand, try unplugging the units (or disconnecting the battery) for a few minutes, then hook it back up again, and see if this makes any improvement. Also, do some "delco" and "delco cd" searches on eBay; a used replacement may be cheaper than getting yours repaired.

If I were you, I would ditch the factory HU and go for a nicer and better sounding aftermarket HU. Your gonna spend way more trying to get that HU from delco fixed

I'd never downgrade to an aftermarket radio unless I had to.......plus, there's no direct-fit way to get CD and cassette in an Astro except for the Jensen unit. If you're sure it's just the remote CD player, pick one up on eBay; they go for around a hundred bucks usually.

I don't see how going with an aftermarket HU is a downgrade? After all aftermarket HU are not only superior in sound quality, but they allow for easy system upgrades, like external amplifiers and not having to worry about security codes from OEM stereos. Just my two cents
