I have 2 sound storm dual 4 ohm subs that are 300Watts RMS And An Alpine rtype 1242d that is 500 watts rms dual 4ohm.I wanted to know if I could mix these subs up and send them all to one amp.It is a audiobahn a800t monoblock. It is 800watts 1600 max.Would I damage anything if I wired them.Would it be better to wire them at 0.67 ohms on the amp or 2.67.
Please help.
Although it is usually not advisable to run different subs, I always suggest to try it. There are more negative aspects to a setup like this, in fact I don't really think there are any positive aspects.
So if you are going to do this, at least make sure they have the proper air space per woofer and I would suggest the 2.667 setup or the 6 ohm setup. Most amps (particularly the A-bahns) are not capable of driving that low of a load.
Other wise ditch the sound storms and use the Alpine (add a second alpine if you feel the need)

Why is it not suggested to mismatch speakers.Like if I try this I am going to break something.Would this be okay until I can get another amp to run the 2 soundstorms.I dont want to only run 2 12s because I just got a 3 12 box.
The main reason against this setup is that it simply wont sound good. No, more than likely nothing bad will happen, as long as you set your gains properly it will be ok.

Thanks alot.It does sound like crap.I just dont want to waste this 3 12" box I just got.I dont want to put to much more into this.I might just get 3 s-types.Do you think those are decent. Also when I have just my r-type hooked up I always get distortion like I can hear a lil bass but no music is playing.Whats That about.Once again thanks alot.
