2006 mazda mx5 miata

has anyone here successfully removed the factory radio from the 2006 mazda miata yet? i got as far a figuring out how to remove half or more of it to do an aux in for ipod but couldnt figure it out 100% i removed the whole center console and the two side panels, then removed the two screws connected to the side of the radio. then behind the glove box if you put ur head in i found a screw holding part of the gel coated vent assembly in. then carefully tried to remove the trim but could only get it half way off it seems like it wants to break!! somebody before me tried it and looks like they jacked the dash up pretty good in the process. i can see the clips and screws from behond the glove box but no luck. has anyone taken one out yet????

A highly and finely tuned Poundometer. If it is anything like the RX8, look for a 10mm bolt on the drivers side of the radio, it may be accessable from the backside of the dash and if it is there will go into the side of the radio.

next time ill see if i can find a bolt i looked but there is so much stuff behind there it hard to tell if there actually is a bolt holding anything. makes a little sense because i popped the right side a little and the left felt like it was still held in.
