ok i got an eclipse 5444 5v deck and a new 5000 8v deck...will it make a big difference from 5 to 8v preout? what would it actually change? i know the more volts the better but why? oh yah, i am running 2 jl 1000/1's, 1 450/4, 2 13.5 w7s. Thanks!

Not a noticeable difference. However, the 8000 will have better, cleaner outputs, so stick with that deck.
The supposed difference with a higher output voltage will allow you to turn the gains on your amp down further, increasing the S/N ratio of the system.
To me, though, the output impedance is more important that output voltage. The 8000 deck is, I believe, a 55 ohm output, which will DRASTICALLY reduce the amount of noise that can be introduced into your system.
------------- It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
