you could get them....but you better have had alot of money to buy them when they first came out.....They priced them so about no-one could afford them and that way they went mainly all to the competitors through accomadations.

They are starting to be sold all over the place now that they have been gone for a few years, alot of people are dropping them

Its funny you guys mention the jackhammer because according to MTX it is a SQ sub. I think its a watse of time and money to get. I mean unless you have a few thousand to blow on a sub and batteries and vehicle and upgrading the suspension, dont bother. You can get a lot more output for a lot less money and vehicle modifications.

Hasn't anyone heard of the Pioneer Premier TS-W8102SPL  woofers?

We hit 178dB last week in Texas with a pair of 'em.  Yes, TWO of them

Well I will say this much   Edge audio does have a scion that is capable of scores like that....they did do 174-176 a weekend ago at texas heatwave on 2 15 inch pioneers

Now the question is if that is actually Luke or not.

Maybe I will get on the phone with Scott to see if they are actually on this fourm, would be great to have another SPL guru on here

Wow, Pioneer has been doing some serious R & D! Their SPL Champ, Scott Owens needed x13 Drivers to hit 180.5db, Now they can hit 177.5 db with two?

"Owens became the first person in the world to break the 180dB barrier using 13 Pioneer Premier® TS-W5000SPL subwoofers powered by 52 Premier PRS-D5000SPL amplifiers"

Also posted on the site: "Witherspoon (Owen's teamate) recently won the championship in IdBL Ultimate 1 class and dB Drag. Witherspoon competes with a 2004 Scion® xB that holds two Pioneer Premier TS-W5000SPL subwoofers powered by eight Pioneer Premier PRS-D5000SPL amplifiers". 177.5dB: Ultimate 1 class IdBL World Record, 2005 IdBL World Finals

Yep,    The scion is really a marvel to look at.   When you look into it, you cannot see the subs in the box.

Weird weird multi order bandpass

From what I remember seeing and haveing described to me, the box is in the bax which is ported and fires into a larger chamber, then that chamber fires in to a wall setup which acts as a 3rd chamber, then that chamber flows into the cab/front of the vehicle which acts as the 4th chamber

I wouldnt be surprised if the passenger side where the meter is, was built to act as a 5th chamber.

Lots of time, research and testing.    Truly an amazing vehicle...Last year it was using (2) 12's to do 177+db    this year it is using (2) 15's and I know it hasnt even came close to being turned up yet.

Any other good ones out there. How about some under $200.

Where I come from, you'd be hard pressed to get subs that have been proven in SPL for under $200. But then again, I know some clowns that have gone to Wal-Mart and bought a pair of 12'' Roadmasters, and sworn that they have an spl system.

I saw a Chevy LUV hit a 164.XXX with 2 RE 15s. They said he is 3rd in the nation in USSAC.

You can find a pair of JL Audio 12W3s for $200 now. Still get a kick out of them.

I work for Scott Owens... I'm on the sales side of the shop - in Gilbert, Arizona.  I've been busy with the new semester at ASU so I haven't replied recently.  I do have some pictures that can be seen at www.myspace.com/edgeaudio The pictures of the truck (only the F-250) are under "view my pics"  Also see www.teamedgeaudio.com

I assure you guys I work for him and I work with Kyle too.  I'm trying to avocate for the speakers that I believe are the loudest beasts on the earth.  I did get one of the 12's for my lady's car with two of the 3000SPL amps to push it.  Oh yes, and two Kinetik HC 1400s for reserve power.  Needless to say she's going to have the loudest car driven by a young female on this side of town.

Anybody remember the M&M Rose 15's? Those things were pretty loud... No SQ to speak of, but then, they WERE an SPL woofer, as was pretty much everything from M&M.

When I was installing (MANY moons ago), I dumped a pair of them in the back end of an Acura Integra, in a BIG @$$ vented box, with a Linear Power 5002 bridged to each one. That was CRAZY loud.

Around the same era, the old school Atomic 15, believe it or not. Again, loud, with no sound quality.

Oh, sure, they'd get spanked today, I was just waxing nostalgic.
