alright so my friend got a ticket for having his system above 80dBA now im not sure but this isnt that loud is it?

no its no. most, if not all stock car audio can play above that level. Personally I believe that if you are in an area where you really shouldnt be playing your music that loud, you deserve the ticket. I normally only really rock out on the interstate. No on is going to pull me over there for playing my music too loud.

I'm also wondering when the "law" started carrying any kind of a sound pressure meter, or something like that. I'm not an SPL guy, so I don't know the proper term. I mean I know they use radar guns....but an SPL meter??? seems odd.

Many areas can simply ticket you if they can hear the music from your vehicle from a certain distance. And if they can hear it from that distance, it is a good indication of how loud your music is.

I wanna know why I get pulled over for playing techno music, but no one wants to pull over these wanna be cowboy redneck reatrds for playing their country music loud as it goes. And i'm from alabama, so i'll bash the wanna be cowboy idiots all day
