speakers making popping noise

just finished intalling my new system in my new car. The problem I am having now is that my rear speakers are making a "popping" noise at high volume. The rear speakers are db Drive 5.25 inch speakers (can't remember the exact model. I think the problem may be that these speakers can't handle the output from the amp. The speakers are rated at 35watts RMS, and the amp powering them at 50 watts RMS. Could this be the problem? Or could it maybe be that my gains are set incorrectly?

One or both could be causing it. Also, if you have a high-pass crossover on the amp, turn it on, and raise the frequency till the popping stops.

Two more things: check your polarity. Also, if you have a whine that won't go away, check the ground on your rca's. It's happened before.

I put on the high pass filter on the amp and that seems to have taken care of the problem. Thanks for you help.
