My dad is a contractor and has some extra Bituthene. it is a self adhered waterproofing membrane. i was wondering if that will work for a sound deading material for my truck? Or would i just be better off going with RAAMmat BXT or second skins damplifier or damplifier pro?

Sounds like a product similar to Peel-n-Seal. A lot of people have had very good results using the forementioned. Check to see how strong the adhesive is and also how strong of a smell it has when it gets warm. The smell of asphalt may not be appealing.

Raammat is the best quality product on a budget.

I have used it before, years ago. Works great, no smell, but verrrry sticky, be careful not to get on carpet etc.. will not come off. Should be excellent for you, escpecially since you can get it for next to nothing from your dad.
