i just replaced the factory head unit in my 2004 f-150 with a pioneer deh-p880prs.  the rest of the system is still the stock ford audiophile system which includes a small subwoofer with amplifier under the rear seat.

when i turn the system on i get a lound pop...  i think it's coming from the factory sub when the amplifier is triggered to turn on.  after the system is on it sounds good and i don't get any popping when switching from one source to another.

thanks for your help.

get your self a dei turn amp turn on device. what will happen is this.

you wire it in line with the remote turn on lead of blue wire from pioneer unit. which means you disconnect the blue wire and wire this dei amp turn on betweent he radio and the factory amp turn on wire.,
it is a dei remote power adapter by dei available at www.selectproducts.com under the directed electronics section

a cheaper option to try would be placing a 1.5k ohm resistor inline on the amp turn on wire from your head unit.  This should fix your problem.
