Anyone here use line drivers (RCA booster) for SPL comps?
I was told that their not needed by a local audio store.
However a couple of guys I go to comps with, use them.

Also what effect will inverting a T-1 10 have on SPL comps? Is it better normally installed with a decent sized port?

You should do some experimenting with a line driver if winning an SPL comp is your goal.  It's all about experimentation.  And inverting a subwoofer will not do anything for you.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

I have only noticed gains in using a Line driver when useing 2 or more amps.   For 2 or less, no diffrence at all.

For one of our 6 amp setups it did help

Inverting the sub has cause a few vehicles I know of to lose db vs gaining anthing besides having a big mag structure hanging out of the box

Cool, well I will be running a 1200watt Rockford amp (401s I think) and 1 T-1 sub. I am not looking to set any recorsd but I would like to do better than a 134.8 with 4 P1s.

I also run a outlaw class once a month.
We tried flipping down the visors, moving the seat foward, it helped maybe .2-3 DB.
Its in a 98 S-10 EXT cab if that helps.
My setup is as follows:
1 RFX-9220 deck
4 P1s wired @ 4 ohms
1200W rockford (401S)
2 i farad caps
big 3 upgrade with 4ga wire
optoma battery

My system runs at 14.75 volts @ 2000rpm.

is the 134.8 the street beat run or outlaw>?

Is the box sealed or ported?

We did some testing with a rockford T-2 12 on a kicker kx1200.1 and it was in the low 140 range...about 144 if I remember right, and that was for outlaw...but it was A streetable setup so tuned very very low for comp use.

My buddy has a mazda mini that we have worked on and off with for quite awhile.   He did 151.9 at his last show off 2 L7's

I could deffinatally give you some tips if you swing up,   there is alot of stuff you could learn

Im thinking with your current setup, thier is either to much box or not enough port.     I will have to look at some of the specs on those subs to really come up with something a little diffrent
