hey guys i want to put 8 10" sub in my tahoe but every time i mention it to my buddies they all frown and say why dont you just do 12" s     but i think the 10s would give me a better low bass sound . What do you guys think.. Keep in mind that all around me people are all stuck on having either kicker comp cvr subs or L7s

8 10s or 8 12s it wont make a difference unless you plan on competing. either way it is impractical for everyday listening.

what kind of subs were you planning on running?  but as for your buddies frowning on you for wanting to run  10's, don't listen to them, you can get some really deicent output with a good pair of 10's.   the L7's used to be nice, but i don't really like there new stuff,  but if you want to build your system with 8 - 10's, build it that way and show everyone that 10's will sound just as good as 12's, however, i do agree with the above statement, daily listening isn't going to be the best with that setup, especailly if you use high output subs (like JL W7's or digital design sub, etc)

Well as far as current setup i have nothing cause my previous truck was stolen and i had 3 15" punch he2 on a bd1000. I would like do some competing with the new subs but here in the chi if you call youself being a installer you better have some heavy sound in your ride or no one will come to you for any work. Oh by the way i want run 8 ma audio  MA100XE on 2 HK2000D amps or two of the mtx 1501d amps..
