Should a digital capacitor(1 farad fosgate) read voltage even with vehicle off. Also It came with a little circuit board for charge and discharge, Should that be on the capacitor all the time or just to charge and discharge.

2nd question is when I turn my sub amp on there is a very faint hum even with volume turned all the way down. I am running 2 12" kicker comp vr 1 ohm into a memphis 500.1

Any help would be appreciated.

i used to have a digital 30 farad capacitor back when i used to think they actually did something. It turned off by itself after a set amount of time. or atleast thats what the directions said. sell the crap, i mean cap :) on ebay and upgrade your big three.

yeah i've put in a few caps in friends cars, they all are convinced they need it so i dont complain--just get paid to do it, and the digital ones usually still read the voltage for a good minute or so before they turn off
