Lets say I got one of those new kicker subs, hooked up a 5000watt rms amp and a 800 watt 4 channel amp. The current draw is going to be close to 500amps. What would i have to do to have my truck handle that? The alt puts out 90amps max. I can put one extra alt and upgrade the current, but I'm still looking at a 300 amp overload - What can I do?
An evreyday truck, 03 Saturn Vue. I love it loud!
In that case do the extra alternator but make sure to get a really big heavy duty one, also get the factory alternator rewound as high as it can be done. I would also add a couple of batteries in the back, I would recommend at least two marine deep cycle batteries with an isolator. I would also put in a 12 volt power supply to charge the batteries if you use more than two. Also I am not familiar with the sub/s, but 5000 watts in anything other than a competition vehicle is over kill. I am content with my two HX2 12 hitting 148.

I've been sick lately, sorry I won't be on much.
I most likley put that much manily curious! I'll probably put in two HX2s, a bd1500 and a 800.4, You can always dream.
I'd be happy with 2 more RF HE 3412's and another 500bd

Kicker says that it need's 5000 rms but I think that if your not gonna use it for comp's but instead everyday listening, then I would believe that maybe 2500 to 3000 rms would give a good sounding result. What do you think?
But at $1600, I think I'll just stick to my 15 L5's instead, that way I know I don't need 5000rms to move those....LOL
