I have one week to decide on a 4-channel amp for my 6.5" polk momo components (i know they aren't that good but i got them for real cheap).  I was wandering what new 4 channel amps are out there for 2006?  I have read some good stuff about the Eclipse xa4000.

How do other amps compare to this?

Is this overkill for my components?

that amp is pretty sick. Dont know if your speakers can handle 125RMS. If not, the ea4000 is only 75RMS. The alpine PDX150.4 is also a class D ICEpower amp and also puts out 125RMS. Focal makes some real nice anti-bling amps. You have to get them from an authorized local dealer and they are a bit pricey.

I'm looking myself for a 4ch x100+ wrms @4ohm amp. There isn't much out there with these numbers. One amp I found was Phoenix Gold Xenon 100.4, which is 100 wrms per channel @4ohm. I've used Xenon monoblocks before, so this one should be a great amp too. Oh, and Polks are fine. I used to have 6.5 coaxials with 6x9 rears, and they did a very good job.

Hmmmm, class D and more power + a better amp or class AB, less power, more heat and a OK amp. I side with the XA4000.
