Hello I just set up my 3-Way components yesterday. They are hooked up to a Eclipse XA2000.

I have a GMC Reg Cab 2005 and I don't understand how to set the gain and high pass freq.

At this time the gain is set about half way and I'm running the Eclipse 8445 deck which has many ADV. features which I'm not too keen about :(

If I make x-over adjustments do this effect my crossover network that came with the elcipse speakers? Also, can you guys give me some advice on how to set the amp up? The only thing that has been messed with is the gain. All other knobs are in the lowest setting.

Also, don't know if this helps you guys but it seems like I'm having a hard time getting the 6.5 woofer to match with the mid and tweet, the mid and tweet's seem very bright and begin to aggrevate my ears to wear I have to turn it down.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Also I don't have a sub set up yet, I'm buying the system in parts so the low bass has to wait.

Oops didn't mention what kind of components they are. They are Eclipse SC8365 3-Way components.

You have a 8volt cd player, turn the gain on the amp back to the 8volt setting. As far as the crossover goes, using the one on the amp, set it around the 100hz HP mark. I just sold my last set of these speakers and cannot for the life of me remember if they have a level control included in the passive crossovers for the speakers. If they do, set it to a lower level, -3 or -6db for example.

The crossover in the cd player is called a active crossover, as is the one in the amp. It filters the frequencies before amplification. The speaker crossovers are called passive and filter frequencies after amplification. If you have the crossovers in the cd player turned on and set incorrectly, it will affect how the speakers sound due to the limited range of frequencies that they receive.

The CD8445 is one powerful tuning device. If you are having problems with the top end being too bright, it will be somewhat easy to tweak the equalization in the cd player to bring it back under control. You are going to have to learn how this cd player works as you are the one that will determine what sounds good to you.

Thanks forbidden! The crossover network does has a level control and it's set at 0db atm, I will change it to -3db and set the voltage back down to 8v's and also set the HP mark to 100hz. Thank you so much again.
