Hey all. I have an Aiwa CDC-MP3 head unit in my Jeep. All 4 speakers function properly when playing a CD or listening to the radio. However, when I use the auxilary input to connect my Ipod to it, only the left speakers in the vehicle work (the right front and right rear are silent)

I opened up the unit to see if any wires were loose/cracked for the aux input, but all 3 wires were intact (Left, ground, and right)

Any ideas? Does that sound normal for an aux input? Sure doesn't seem so. The cord I'm using IS stereo, for your info. Also if I use earphones with the Ipod, left and right both work.....so I know it isn't a problem with the Ipod. Also it does this with my friend's Ipod as well which leads me to think it's a problem with the aux input.

what kind of ipod adapter are you using? make sure it is not mono.

I didn't buy it, it was in the vehicle when I got it...The head unit sucks IMO. Smallest buttons ever, panel flashes when you press a button....meh. But it is what I have to use until I get something better!

This was odd. I moved the plug around and the other 2 speakers worked, but they would stop working as soon as I moved the plug. After enough coaxing I got it so the 2 speakers would stay on. Sounds like a bad connection for the female recepticle for the aux connection. It works fine now. If it goes out again I'll just replace the 3 wires leading to the aux recepticle. Thanks!
