Hello I need to know where to put the remote wire for an amp in my daughters 2003 Pontiac Sunfire GT. The HU is a factory monsoon stereo. Thanks. Kevin

Kevin, you are best going to the main ignition harness for this wire. Look for the bundle of wires coming from the ignition cylinder and locate the pink wire. This pink wire is the IGN line for the vehicle and you can tap into this wire at that point with relative ease. Make sure that you put a fuse on the line at this point as well, 3 amps is more than enough.

You can also use the large Brown wire if you prefer to use the stereo with the main ignition still turned off. This way you are not powering all circuits in the vehicle with the engine off. The Brown wire (ACC) works in all key positions save for off and start, the Pink (IGN) wire works only in one position.

I will try that tomorrow....I didn't want to start hacking away at wires not knowing. If i use the brown one, will the amp turn off with stereo? Oh I see.......If I use the brown one, she will be able to have the ign turned to the acc and still have the radio on with the amp without everything else being energized. But when the ign is turned off, the amp will be off also. Right?posted_image Thanks so much...
