ok my question is this...can you use speaker wire as a postive wire from your battery....and the same for negitive?

Wire is wire, so, yes, you COULD do it, but I'd really rather see you use actual, proper primary wire. It's better designed for the relatively hostile underhood environment. It will also come in the proper gauge for the application.

Why not? Electrically, they do exactly the same thing - conduct electricity. The only reasons not to use it, are listed above, HOWEVER, if a speaker wire will do what it needs to do safely, (gauge is adequate, insulation is intact) there is no reason you can't use speaker wire for a "power" application.
