My friend's car is Toyota 4runner 2003. There are 10 speakers connected to the manuafactorur's amp.

I check the wiring book it should be:

RF Speaker +/-      Lt. green - blue       +,-      radio harness

But at radio harness, I dont see the lt. green wire.
how to make connection for this car?

PS: My DVD player only has 4 speakers outputs. How can it run 10 speakers? Make connection to the factory AMP? Anybody knows where the AMP is?

I am going to install a DVD player on this truck.
The DVD player has built-in AMP. But only 4 speakers outputs.

But this truck has 10 speakers.2 front speakers w/tweeters, center speaker, rear door speakers, sub, & 2 tweeters in the rear d-pillars.

Do I have to keep the factory AMP to drive these 10 speakers? Where is the AMP then?

The factory amp is in the right rear Qtr. and the turn on is gray in the radio harness.

BUT, nouseforaname has the best idea....FM modulation.

What type of DVD player (manufacturer, and model #)

Thanks for replies above.

it is this model:

Because there is no more space for extra DVD, so that I can not keep the factory CD player or transfer the audio by FM modulator.

Could you tell the wiring colors of the AMP?

You can purchase a modulator the size of a deck of cards....

Your idea of wiring the deck to 10 speakers will not work. I would still use the pre-outs-to an FM modulator-to the factory deck- and be done.

Metra's 70-8117 should allow you to do an amp bypass.

I think he wants to do a bypass.

He's putting the DVD player in to REPLACE the factory deck. How do you use an FM mod without a head unit? Almost all Toyotas of this model year are passively crossed over, so the deck would see 4 channels at 4 ohms each, read his post again.
