i just got this alternator it is a 200amp unit it has a external voltage regulator and 2 terminals on top for the battery. i am using 2 batterys in my system should i leave the bridge bar between the 2 batt posts on top or remove it and run battery cables to each one .and do i have to fuse the battery outputs if so what size fuse.

The dual output posts can be left seperate with one going to each battery or you can leave the jumper in place and run a single larger size wire to both batteries if they are next to each other. I would see if the external regulator has dual voltage sensing wires. If so I would find out if any one particular one or both need to be connected to the battery. My opinion is if I had both batteries next to each other, they were the same type, brand, and purchased as a pair and I would not allow the batteries to get to low to where I couldn't restart the engine and I wanted to run one larger gauge wire instead of two seperate more expensive runs of wire, then I would run it with the jumper.
