Hey, posting for a friend with a 2004 Nissan Xterra. It has a CD Player, and no auxilary input. Would it be possible to wire an auxilary input/cord into the back of the stereo head unit? Has anyone done something like this?
The vehicle is still under factory warranty so we wouldn't want to do anything that would interfere with the warranty. Basically wants to use the auxilary input to connect his ipod and play it through the speakers. I was also wondering if this was possible, considering there is no auxilary/input button on the stereo itself?
Give me your ideas, thank you!
you can get a transmiter that plays an ipod on 88.7. FM. try frys eletronics

Ah, totally forgot about that sort of thing! My dad had a 1996 Chevrolet Caveliar (traded in 3 years ago) with a CD Changer in the trunk that would play off of that station. Thanks for reminding me!
Just asking - Do you think there would be inputs behind the head unit so we could just add an auxilary input? Something like this - https://www.overtons.com/modperl/overtons/detail/pdetail2.cgi?r=detail_view&item_num=74482
I do see the thing you are talking about online. Plugs into the cigarette lighter and then transmits. Different from what my dad had for the CD changer, but the same radio station concept!
i would think wiring anything in like that would void some warranty. the part from frys is i think 80 dollars. its got volume . you can change tracks. no wiring. works on any FM
