Yes. Why would you want to?

Sure. No drawback. Home amps are usually only 8-ohm stable, unless you have a semi-expensive amp.

What do you own and what are you trying to do?

i have nothing but a friend has an 8 ohm home amp and 2- 4 ohm svc subs, just wondering if there are any drawbacks. i told him he is stupid and just get a proper amp. now i am just trying to get some facts.

He should just get a proper car audio amplifier.

(1) No DC-AC converter is 100% efficient. Plus, he will spend money on this device.

(2) home audio amplifiers aren't made for the temperature or vibration abuses of the car.

Seriously, tell him to buy a car audio amplifier.

Not to mention home amps are often tube amps, and a lot more fragile, as they are designed to sit in one place, not to be tossed around in a car.  But if he doesn't mind ruining his stuff, go for it.

Are you talking about trying to put a "home amp" into your car (don't) or trying to use car speakers inside with a home amp (no problem)?

That is a bad idea for many of the reasons already mentioned, but mostly because it requires 120volts.
