Hi guys just wondering if anyone has ever had this problem before?

I Installed an nerwer modell eclipse head unit into a 1993-94 (not sure about the exact year) Acura Legend. I take out the boss head unit, so far so good! I installed the aftermarket deck with the harness (that buddy was sure of was meant for this car). I turn on the head unit..evrything looks good radio works power is there...but when iI put a cd in...... no sound comes out..it will play the track but NO SOUND!..I dont know what to do?

Could this have anything to do with the fact that there is a stock cd changer in the back of the trunk...In my opinion it shouldnt..but im hoooped on this one
any HELP is appreciated ..
THANKS!!

I think I know the problem.  First off whast brand wiring harness did you use?  You most likley just have to attach the blue/white wire from the radio harness to the carside remoteturnon wire.  This wire should be a yellow/white wire on the carside harness.

You might want to make sure that its the right harness. When I used to work for Circuit City we had those Metra quick connect harnesses and the Alpine and Aiwa plugs were the same size ( one would fit in either radio) the only problem was the power wire on the Alpine harness is in the same spot as the speaker out on the Aiwa, so basically it would fry every time, a fellow installer did this in the shop we almost never figured out what happened until I remembered the Alpine harness was black. So I would double check to make sure its right.

T-Bone is right, reread the post, he says the radio works fine so it can't be a grounded lead. Hook up the blue/white lead where your blue lead is currantly hooked.

When he says the radio "works" he means sound is coming out of the speakers when the radio is playing. Explain to me how a grounded lead only cuts the sound out when he is playing the CD but not when he is playing the radio.

Any other suggestions?,...could it simply be a faulty Deck...(it is brand new though)
Thanks for the help!

sounds like you have the amp remote hooked up to the "power Ant" lead and not the "Amp Remote Turn on " lead.....

this will cause this exact problem because there will be power with the radio on ( to keep the power antenna up) and dump power on disc (to bring the antenna down) .....

double check the remote turn on lead to the deck... it should be hooked to Blue/White and NOT the Blue lead.....
