Hey everybody sorry to bother you. I've got a question. How common is it for a 1998 Honda Accord to have wiring problems on the factory cd player? My girlfriend got her Accord a couple months ago and now everytime she hits a bump the audio on her cd player will either cut out or come back. I have a feeling its the wires going to the speakers on the back of the cd player since they all go out, but i'm not sure. i want to get in there and fix it up (my specialty with cars is wiring), but i always make sure i get some background information first. I like this site for its professionalism, so if anyone has ever experienced this before or has any information on where the problem might be i would appreciate it. :-)

I have a right ear and a wrong ear.
It sounds to me like a speaker wire is touching metal somewhere when she hits a bump, and the deck goes into protect mode to save the amp. Is this a factory system (deck/speakers)? If not, what all equipment is installed?

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
Yes sir, its all factory. The car is completely unmodified in any way.

Does it also do it on tuner? If the answer is no, then the issue is in the laser transport of the cd player. If the answer is yes, it may be a bad speaker or a wire dead shorting. Take care to also watch the counter on the cd player when the audio stops, does the counter keep going?
