Not one to complain, but I think this needs to be addressed. Lately here it seems like the bad advice monster has reappeared ( as he does from time to time). Guys, if you are not CERTAIN about answers you give DON'T GUESS! People are dealing thousands of dollers worth of equipment here, it's not a contest to see who has the most posts. Sorry, I just thought that needed to be said, now go away bad advice monster.

It all reminds me of something that Moličre once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I rely on those of you with experience to help correct the bad advice, as you put it.  The quantity always seems to increase right around the time school starts up each fall.  Thanks in advance!

We use information on this forum just like all (or at least most) of the people here. If we are to use the information, we would like some reassurance that the information is at least somewhat reliable. Just like tcss said, we sometimes are dealing with big dollar equipment/projects. We are not in the business to lose money. I doubt most of the people here feel differently.

For those who have helped us, we would like to extend a Thank You Very Much.

If it wernt for Forbidden and Velocity way way back in the day I would still be doing stupid projects like 10 10's and underpowering it all!

You guys helped mold me into what I have "become" today, I bet you didnt think you would release such a monster on the world huh?

Even if thier is bad advice going around typically we will catch and correct the "mistake" that may have been listed, in most cases if I find an old topic that has had Bad info I tend to PM the topic starter

It would be better to post the corrections in the respective topic/forum and link to the bad topic if it closed. If bad advice is consistently posted by any member, the respective member will lose their posting privileges. To report bad advice members, please shoot an email to the12volt@the12volt.com.

nouseforaname, thanks for the post and your right about the difference between bad advice and lack of knowledge. To add to this, all the names that you listed for senior member's are not exempt to the lack of knowledge category as we are all learning every day here on the forums wether it's electrical theory or fiberglassing dashes. If you see some of the senior member's posting incorrect answers, by all means, post a rebuttle. There's no need to be shy & you know we won't bite if someone challenges our opinions, we will just present our side in a different light or we will admit we were misinformed.

i appreciate the maturity on this website and the way idea's are challenged rather than character assasination's and name-calling that you'll find on other sites.

Wow, I didn't think the "Bad Advice Monster" would hit such a nerve.I agree no one here knows everything and we are all constantly learning, but that wasn't my point. All I'm saying is when you answer somebodies question BE SURE. It's been really great here since the vaporization of Uthinkyouknowaudio, but lately it's gotten a little sloppy. Again, your telling someone about modifying the first or second most valuable thing he or she owns, your advice has to be right. Yes being corrected IS a learning experience, but what about the guy who just set his car on fire.

He ends up calling his mom and telling her that the brand new Cobra she got him for his birthday burned up in the parking lot with less than 40 miles on it.

True Story!

He was a young teen who thought he knew it all... We haven't seen or heard of him since. But something tells me he is driving around in a junker >.<

Sorry... Had to bring some humor to the thread.

Well nouse, since you took it upon yourself to beat me to it as usual and say it the exact way I would have said it if not better!!!posted_image.....I would like to add..

I found a home here almost 3 years ago. I have been active this year a lot more than I have in the past two. This forum is like a secret club in a way and there are many many people on here I view as best friends if you will,...we have never met, don't know what they look like, how loud they fart...nothing...but because friends help each other and go out of their way to assist one another. So, to all of my friends on here (no way I could list all names, basically anyone I have ever traded posts or private messages with) I thank you all for all the knowledge and fun times we have had, and nooo I am not on my deathbed right now (at least I hope I won't be) but I wanted to tell you guys and gals that.

As for the bad advice monster who deliberately spreads bad advice. I fabricated some carbon fiber bullets that should work if it hits the heartposted_image posted_image

its funny when u go to other audio forums and you read what they have to say you think to yourself "wow these people don't know anything" then I came here and was reading a lot of post from people and was just amazed at the brains of these people.... this is BY FAR the best car audio forum on the internet. So keep up the good advice guys

Ooh ooh Me too.  I wanna be just like them when I grow up....  But I don't wanna grow up cause if I did I couldn't be a toys r us kid.

Bad joke I know, but it's true this place is great for finding solutions to random problems.  Which Having worked for both of the big boxes now.  I will say this site is much better than either of their private forums.
